This was a once in a lifetime styled shoot opportunity at Nakoma Resort in Clio, California. When we first were approached by Shaquarrius Calloway Events about providing wedding couples photography for this styled shoot and were told that the theme of the shoot was based off of the TV Show Outlander, we right away got excited. What a creative idea! If you’ve ever watched the TV show you know that they have beautiful imagery. This shoot didn’t disappoint with immaculate table decor setups reminiscent of the TV series.

Nakoma Resort provided the perfect backdrop for wedding couples photography, allowing us to showcase the theme, decor and models. They have a large reception area complete with a fireplace. In the evenings we are sure that only adds to the amazing ambiance of this place. The outside courtyard is another area that has an amazing view and provides some great opportunities for portraits. We can imagine what a great time a bride and groom can have here with all their friends and family. It would be so awesome to have them all stay the weekend and enjoy the moment together on this property.

In the morning on the day of the shoot we had our doubts about heading into the mountains. The resort is a 3 hour drive from Sacramento and we worried about getting caught in a snow storm that was supposed to arrive that day. But we decided it was worth it and risked the drive. When we got there, we had to deal with the rain outside, otherwise we would have liked to get more pictures outside. But when the rain died down a little, we got some great pictures of the couple outside. They had an umbrella because it was sprinkling. But we liked the way it turned out! At the end of the day, we are happy to report that although we encountered snow, we made it back home without incident.
